Goal

Blood Brothers is a support group that brings together men, twenty years or older, who are effected by bleeding disorders. The group provides the opportunity for men to share their experiences and concerns and thereby helps them to cope with the challenges of living with bleeding disorders, and to make responsible personal decisions to promote their well-being along with the well-being of their family and loved ones. One of Blood Brothers' greatest assets is developing a true bond of fellowship which is essential to a successful support group. Sharing, Caring, and Supporting are some of our chief attributes. Everything the group discusses is kept confidential.

Blood Brothers also provides up to date information regarding the Gateway Hemophilia Association, national organizations, and the HTC’s.

The group usually gets together once every 3 or 4 months for a planned activity. Gas expenses will be taken care of by the GHA. Please accept our warmest welcome to join the group.Only through your involvement can the group's goals and objectives be achieved. For more information, please feel free to contact Tony Delia.

Blood Brothers News

Yes, we have changed our name from MANN to Blood Brothers. Since we are connected by blood (hemophilia) and we are a closely knitted group like brothers, we decided our new name would be "Blood Brothers."

I would like to inform all those who don't know what our support group entails. First, we bring together all men 20 years of age and older that have experienced similar problems with hemophilia along with their complications, hepatitis or HIV/Aids. This group provides the opportunity for men to share their experiences and concerns, which help them make personal decisions to promote their well-being and the well-being of their family and loved ones. Everything we do and say is done "confidentially." Blood Brothers also provides up-to-date information regarding the Gateway Hemophilia Association, the National Organizations, and the Hemophilia Treatment Center.

One of our greatest assets is developing true bonding of fellowship, which is essential to a successful support group. Sharing, caring, and supporting are some of our chief attributes. Only through your involvement can our goals and objectives be obtained. To grow, we need each and every one so they can benefit by this great program. It is a great way to get out and meet a very select group of men. All hemophiliacs are a very unique, caring, concerned group of people.

Come and experience our group. Join us not only in the Blood Brothers support group, but in our chapter, Gateway Hemophilia Association, as well. Once you attend and get involved, you will see what I am referring to. The Hemophilia community is always willing to help one another in many ways. Examples: Helping Hands and Family Education Weekend.

I realize that many may feel out of place, but let me assure you this will not be the case. I can vividly recall two situations of past members saying, "This is great! I feel good to be able to talk to someone who has been there and understands what this life (hemophilia and plus) is all about. I am always looking forward to another "Blood Brothers" get together, enjoying the hospitality and social atmosphere as well."

We usually get together once every three months, which includes a brief meeting, enjoy an activity (movie, Omni, or visit a St. Louis attraction...), then lunch. Gas money will be reimbursed.

Please accept our warmets welcome to join us. For more information, call me, Tony Delia, Coordinator, at 314-892-7508.
