2009 Science Sleep Over
On November 6th and 7th GHA held its second annual sleep over at the St. Louis Science Center, sponsored by Hemophilia Preferred Care. There were a total of 21 kids, parents, and chaperones that came and stayed all night. Our group got to watch some fun science experiments, and even make their very only silly putty. We filled up on pizza and soda for dinner, which the kids loved, and also watched an Omnimax movie about Ocean Life. We had plenty of time to explore the center and play on all the different exhibits. We unpacked our sleeping bags and slept in the open science galleries for the night. Most of us got at least some sleep, and the kids still had plenty of energy in the morning.
We got an early start packing up our gear and eating breakfast, and then headed over to the planetarium. We were treated to a full dome projection of the night sky and learned about the stars and how to identify some of the different constellations and galaxies. It was an exciting night with so much to do we could barley fit it all in. The kids had a wonderful time playing and learning. |
