2010 Science Sleep Over
On November 5th and 6th GHA held its third annual sleep over at the St. Louis Science Center, sponsored by Hemophilia Preferred Care. This year there were a total of 25 kids, parents, and chaperones that came and stayed all night. Once again we enjoyed a night of fun, and learning. The kids had fun building support structures out of recycled paper, booklets and tape. Some of which were very impressive. Below is a picture of Ariel Magee standing on the structure she built with her family.
We had several more activities including watching some Amazing Science Demonstrations, making paper helicopters, and learning about plastic/polymers. There was time to explore the Science Center as well and enjoy a Star Show in the Planetarium before bed and an Omnimax movie about Special Effects in the morning before we checked out. All in all it was a great night and we look forward to this event again in the fall of 2011. |
