Helping Hands
Mission Statement
The Helping Hands Program exists for the sole purpose of providing emergency financial assistance to those persons who have been physically, emotionally, and financially affected by a blood coagulation disorder.
Program Goals
Provide funding through grants, fundraising, and direct gifts to address:
- Quality of life issues
- Emergency crisis situations
- Provide assistance that is confidential, minimally invasive, and as uncomplicated as possible
Eligibility and Program Criteria
- The Helping Hands Committee decides if a crisis situation qualifies for support from the Helping Hands fund
- The Helping Hands Committee will not base its decisions on race, religion, or gender
- Eligible for support through the Helping Hands Program is a person with a bleeding disorder or a person financially dependent on the head of a household of a person with a bleeding disorder
- Eligible for support through the Helping Hands Program is a person who lives within the geographical service area of the GHA
- Funding shall not exceed $500 per calendar year per household within the GHA proposed budget
- Funding is provided for emergency crises and/or other medically necessary services or situations
- Committee recommendations will be provided to the applicant and applicant follow-up will be mandatory
